These love locks have been locked onto the railing of Hohenzollern Bridge in Cologne by lovers lock from all over the globe.

As a sign of love, sweethearts usually inscribe their names or initials onto the locks before throwing the key into the river below as symbol of permanent commitment. Deutsche Bahn, a German railway company and the Hohenzollern Bridge operator, threatened to have the locks removed but eventually conceded in the face of public opposition. The Love Locks are now a well known tourist attraction and adored by all. “Love is all you need”.
