The Films storyline is a familiar one: about a young girl, Angela from Ohio who travelled to Hollywood with dreams of becoming a movie star.

This silent film directed by James Cruze was exceptional because so many Hollywood Stars at the time had cameo appearances which created the necessity of casting unknown actors as leads. James Cruze was a famous American film director and actor, a superstar during the days of silent films and after the advent of sound he became an insignificant player in Hollywood. Many of James Cruze’s silent films have been lost and only few exist today.

In a memorable and very emotional cameo was "Fatty" Arbuckle (Roscoe). In real life, his acting career by 1921 had been ruined because of the scandal involving the death of actress Virginia Rappe, he was ultimately acquitted on all counts, but the damage was done. He appears briefly as an unemployed actor, standing pitifully in a casting line, unable to get work.

The stars included Cecil B. DeMille, Douglas Fairbanks, Will Rogers, Gloria Swanson, Mary Astor, William Boyd, Charles Chaplin, Bebe Daniels, Sid Grauman, Alan Hale, William S. Hart, Jack Holt, Ben Turpin, Anna Q. Nilsson, Charles Ogle, Mary Pickford and Pola Negri, and there were more....
