The Eagle is a brilliantly entertaining silent movie featuring the incredibly photogenic Rudolph Valentino. Production for “The Eagle” commenced in early 1925 and it was a gamble, Valentino was depending on and badly needed a box office success. The film was completed in early summer and United Artists ensured that the film was ready for release on November 8, 1925.

The Times (Cleveland) reviewed:

"Rudolph Valentino in a type of picture which gives him an opportunity to prove the reason of his former popularity as The Sheik of the screen. To say that he redeems himself in the eyes of the movie fan, would be putting it in mild terms.  Valentino not only proves he can act, but that he is a trained athlete as well".
