Stresa–Mottarone Railway - Vintage Italian Travel Poster

A stunning 1911 poster advertising the Stresa–Mottarone rack railway, northern Italy.

Artist: Mario Borgoni (1869–1936)

The Stresa-Mottarone was a narrow gauge railway, established in 1911 and ceased service in 1962.

Ten kilometres of tracks connected two wonderful places: Stresa on Lake Maggiore, with its three beautiful Borromean Islands; and Monte Mottarone, which was  a perfect starting point for a skiing trip
