Cortina d’Ampezzo is a town in the centre of the southern Alps in the Veneto region of Northern Italy. The Boite (river), a tributary of the Piave, flows through the Dolomites and passes through the Valle del Boite and town of Cortina d'Ampezzo. This Alpine Valley is a popular winter sport resort famous for its skiing trails, scenery and attracts elite and aristocratic European visitors.
